Week 37. Spring flowers.

Hi everyone!

First of all please everyone that is reading my blog I encourage you to vote me and my family! We participated in a AFS contest. If we win we have a free trip to one of the major cities in the USA and I could't think of a better way to finish my amazing year abroad than traveling with the people that made it possible.  You can find the link in my Facebook account. Thank you very much!

This is going so fast I can't believe it only sixty-nine days left. I'm gonna leave the sadness for another post that I'm planning to do soon where I will talk about my whole experience as a foreign exchange to try and convince people that this is the absolutely best thing you can ever do. I will also post somethings about my host family and friends, to help the foreign exchange students that are living to the USA in August and September. I wish I could do it all over again!.
This week has been a very relaxed week. My super amazing now Arkansas family left on Wednesday. It was so sad saying goodbye to them. I have to tell you the cutest thing ever. The dad made my school lunch every day. He woke up at six prepared me lunch and went back to bed. Isn't that the cutest thing ever!. Caitlyn and Pat (the daughter and son) will be coming to Florida in June so I will be able to spend some more time with them.  After they left, the house seemed so empty and quiet. So there's not been a lot going on by then. Lots of homework in school, and I'm looking forward finishing the AP tests in two weeks. Everybody told me that after testing summer time is just around the corner. So I guess we won't have tons of homework. I've been doing changes to my instagram. I think from now on I'm going to post things as mi diary and not just use it to post pictures about myself. I just think that's a better use and even more now that I'm leaving abroad. (I kinda steal Chiara's ideas all the time). I went to the movies with my italian girl on Friday to see "The longest ride". Super cute romantic movie that you have to see. It;s the story about a  hot country boy that falls in love with the cute city gal. On Saturday Heyden, Mads, Taylor, Aurora and I went to Taylor's Country Beach club. I love those places and Vero is full of them. You have swimming pools, very hot lifeguards , amazing food and private beaches. We also spent the night at Taylor's house. We had a little party and we watched movies. It was tons of fun. Yesterday I just did some homework and some FaceTime with my Spanish friends. I have to start knowing all the things going on around there because in two months I will be involve with that life again. Tomorrow my prom dress comes....how exciting is that?
I'll talk to you later!

Week 35&36. We had tons of visits!

Hey, Again late but with tons of things to tell you. The last days of Spring Break my dad's sister's son, wife and children came to visit from NY. They were super cute. I went to the beach with them and I am actually getting super tan (I catching up with last summer's tan). I think I already told you about all this in the last post but I don't feel like erasing so I'll remind you by saying it again. On Easter Sunday we went to the house that Dave's nephew rented at the Beach. It was huge. I sunbathed with Maddy and surfed with Andy the enormous waves (I'm getting way better). I did with the kids an egg hunt and we also painted and decorated eggs. It was the first time I did it and I didn't do bad I earned ten dollars. We had a big dinner with ham, turkey, fruit, potatoes and corn. The whole family saw the sunset by the beach and it was great. The following school days I just cached up with work, not very cool stuff. On Thursday Mary's nephew came with his family (wife, daughter and son) to our house. They are from Arkansas and they are the sweetest family ever. We've had so much fun together. They are very country and southern and I love hearing them talk and listen to their accents its always exciting. I realized there are so many differences between states in the USA. They love hunting, trucks and jeeps. Florida was a great destination to come (one of the best for sure) but I think there is nothing bad about being sent to other states in the USA, they are so different and If you had this family I'm sure you would love it. On Thursday we watched movies and I also learned how to play pull. On Friday I didn't go to school and I went with them to a beach in almost Jupiter. (It was a long way). We took pictures, went into the water and sunbathed all day long. On the afternoon I went with all to see the sunset to our beach and picked some shells up. On Saturday I went with Maddy, Andrea and this kid called Chris to Orlando. They had to go to a JSA meet. JSA is a political club and my sister is the president of it. I went with them and ended up in a outlet mall with my host mom, Caitlyn and Patrick (The kids of the nephew). I bought tons of stuff and spend tons of money...daddy sorry! But everything I got it was very cute and I was very excited after almost eight months without doing really shopping. We had lunch and snacks there and I went with my host Arkansas family to get something for dinner. At night we went to the JSA "party" at the hotel. It was full of strange people but Caitlyn and me didn't stop dancing. It's funny that I had to travel all the way to the USA to find someone as crazy as me. I love her, and she is the prettiest ginger ever! I'm going to be so sad when they go home on Wednesday. On Sunday we went to see Mary's nephew Iron Men (two hours swimming, 54 miles biking and 13 miles running) all this in a 80 degree temperature. The guy passed out and we ended up at the hospital. He is alright but he lost tons of water. Today I just went to school nothing wild. We just ended up seeing a movie. Another two weekends have past and today it's my eighth month at the States. Time is going way to fast.
btw: my host family just got a new exchange student for next year. Her name is Irene and she is Italian. I'm excited to have her Facebook so I can text her and tell her the awesome year she is going to experience. I wish I could do it all over again. It's so cool to think that my family liked so much this experience that they are going to do it all over again but it's even more exciting to think that Maddy, my host sister will be coming to my house for the second semester of her senior year. Can't wait to show her all the cool places arround!.
See ya in a week!

Weeks 33&34. Spring Break.

Hey unconditional followers!
I will start telling you how great and amazing was my break! After nine hard weeks of school (I say hard because school days here are endless but it's not hard at all) finally some time off came. I started the break with one day in advance. My host family, Chiara and I went camping for five days to the Springs. On Thursday after four days of school making up work our ten days off started. We went to Publix to buy all the stuff for camping (food, plates, movies for the ride and bathroom stuff). We also picked up all the blow-up beds, sleeping bags and wetsuits that we needed. We came home and had pizza for dinner while we watched a very interesting movie that my absolute favorite teacher (Mr. Lewis) recommended. It was a movie than was based in a real story called "Complaince". The movie was about this man that pretended to be a police and called fast food restaurants and invented stuff about young girls. In this case he called MacDonald's and said that a young girl stole from someone. He convinced the manager of the store to take off the girls clothes. He also convinced a few men to punish the girl and rape her. The movie wanted to show how people follow rules without thinking about them if they come from an authority and it's crazy to think that this really happens. After watching it I downloaded some music to play on our road trip.
On Friday we left Vero at about 9 am. We had MacDonald's breakfast and we arrived to our campsite in Ginnie Springs at five. While we were putting the tent up it started raining and it took us a long time to figure out how things were going to be organized. We had burgers and hot dogs for dinner.
On Saturday we went on Canoes along the river. It was so much fun, we saw turtles and tons of different birds and plants. In the afternoon Maddy, Chiara and I went tubbing along the river. The water was so cold and clear. Maddy fell off the tub and we ended up swimming in Ginnie Springs. The nights at this campsite were so cold. It was in the thirties and I didn't bring with me any warm clothes. The tent was really big but getting used to sleep in sleeping bags was difficult. On Sunday we went to Crystal River. We had seafood for lunch in a real american restaurant. That afternoon after we organized all the stuff in our new site (it was way quicker than the first time) we went to buy some warm clothes in Walmart. The nights at this campsite were not as cold but mosquitos were horrible and they bit me all over. Chaira and I stayed up really late Sunday night. We sat around the fire and we started to remember all the cool and exciting stuff we've been throw this year. On Monday we rented a boat and went to swim with Manatees (so thankful we had wetsuits on). I took some cool underwater pics of them. At around four we arrived to our site and Chiara, Maddy and I went to the dock to sunbathe. We went out for dinner at a restaurant that was in the middle of nowhere but facing the Golf of Mexico. We saw an amazing sunset and took some cool pics. On Tuesday we left early to St. Petersburg to visit the Dali Museum. I learned so much about his life and paintings. He was a very interesting person. He was concern about the unconscious world and that's why he drew his dreams and wishes. I am excited to see his other museum in Figueres. We had Spanish food for lunch (that was so cool). We left the museum at four and arrived to Vero at eight. On Wednesday I just went to the beach with my whole family. We had a lot of visits. My Dad's sister and her husband have been in Vero almost since I came (they are going home in a few days and I think it's going to be the first real goodbye I am going to say) Their son also came to spend his break with his children and wife.
On Thursday after going to Micheal's with Maddy I went to Taylor's new house. Aurora and Mads were also there and we sunbathed and played music. I got a piercing with Taylor in my ear (the cartilage). It's so weird and crazy that I did it because I am usually so scared of needles and shots. On Friday Tay drop me of at my house after having Starbucks breakfast and I went to Wabasso Beach with Chiara (I am getting so tan). In the afternoon we went bowling with Maddy, Andy and the two kids. We also went skating and we had an ice-cream at the beach with Dillon. Today I've talked to my parents back in Spain and Chiara and I just finished our third video.
I thought I should post something today because I know tomorrow I won't have time. I have so much homework to do and it's also Easter.
I am so jealous of all the people in Spain that still have ten more days of vacation. Last eight weeks of school. Forty-one days and school is over. Summer is almost here and I am so prepared!
This break was great and one of the things that made it great was that I got to know my host sister, Maddy, way more. On school days she is always very busy doing work .She's a great student (top 5 %) and she's also involved with so many extra activities and clubs. On weekends I don' usually spend much time home and we usually do our own thing with our group of friends. This holidays I was able to spend so much time with her and I just loved it. I am so glad that I ended up in this family and I am so thankful that I met her. We're both interested in the same stuff....politics, world relations, law and it's great having someone that you are able to talk and that shares the same principles than you. We have so much confidence now and I am so glad that I can call her my american amazing host sister. (See Maddy I actually talk good about you....I lav u).
Write to you next week!

I love my host mom so much!
